THE ROLE

The business unit reporting analyst is an important role in the success of the business here at AMD. This role will work closely with business unit finance, business operations, channel operations, and global operations to deliver management reports. This position will have high visibility to senior level management team.

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate that should have prior corporate finance experience, a high sense of collaboration, attention to details and the ability to speak up and make recommendations in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a teammate that will take ownership of the role, drive improvements in execution, and implement standardized work. The role requires someone with the capability to grow within the position and future rotations to other positions at AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with cross functional teams both within and outside of Finance, provide robust weekly, monthly and quarterly senior-level financial performance reporting.
  • Clearly communicate a cohesive and concise story around the business drivers behind financial data and implications on current and future results.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting of AECG daily billings and backlog, including adjustments based on inputs from Accounting, Engineering, and Operations teams.
  • Evaluate and assess key operational issues, risks and business drivers pertaining to budget, actual results and forecast updates.
  • Develop deep understanding of financial reporting systems to enable and build reporting to support close and variance to actuals analysis.
  • Drive reporting process improvements and enhance data transparency to provide timely and accurate financial information to business leaders.
  • Apply strong excel spreadsheet skills to drive efficiencies, improve reporting and automate tasks applying sophisticated formulas and functions.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written, especially communication of financial results and information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong financial modeling skills is required. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint / Think Cell is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and translate outcomes of financial models and data into insights to drive the business
  • Strong understanding of Finance/Accounting concepts and a general understanding of US GAAP accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Excellent understanding of/or skills with financial planning & reporting systems.
  • SAP and Power BI experience preferable. Data mining and database skills also useful.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related field
