Acara Solutions is seeking a Semiconductor Process Technician (Deposition & Metrology) to join our client on a year long contract opportunity located in Morrisville NC
Seeking direct experience operating deposition and analytical tools in a cleanroom environment. This role supports wafer processing by running deposition equipment, monitoring process performance, and performing metrology to ensure film quality and process stability. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience handling die in a cleanroom and glovebox environment and the ability to troubleshoot process or tool issues in collaboration with engineers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor semiconductor deposition equipment (e.g., CVD, Sputtering, ALD, spin coating) and oxidation or diffusion furnaces
  • Execute process recipes and monitor critical parameters such as temperature, pressure, gas flow, and power
  • Perform die handling, loading/unloading, and lot tracking in a cleanroom environment
  • Conduct film and device measurements using analytical/metrology tools (e.g., AFM, optical microscopy, UV-vis, and sheet resistance)
  • Analyze process and metrology data to identify trends, deviations, and out-of-spec conditions
  • Perform routine chamber cleans, tool qualifications, and post-maintenance checks
  • Document process results, issues, and corrective actions per SOPs
  • Troubleshoot basic process or equipment issues and escalate as needed
  • Follow all cleanroom, safety, and hazardous chemical handling procedures
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • * Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating semiconductor deposition tools
  • * Minimum of 2 years of experience performing metrology or analytical measurements on wafers or thin films
  • * Minimum of 2 years of cleanroom experience, including wafer handling and contamination control
  • * Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed process documentation
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience handling small samples in a glovebox environment
  • Experience with AFM and/or UV-vis measurements
  • Experience working R&D semiconductor fab environment
