What You Will Do:
GFT is seeking a Federal Contracts Specialist to join our Federal Business Development team. This role is responsible for cradle-to-grave contract and subcontract administration supporting the Federal Market Sector's portfolio of Architect-Engineer (A-E) contracts. The preferred location for this position would be in the Greater Washington, DC area or any of our other GFT Locations: Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Fairfax, Houston, Kansas City or Philadelphia. What you'll be challenged to do: The Federal Contracts Specialist reports to the Federal Market Sector Leader (MSL) and partners closely with Client Service Leaders (CSLs), Project Managers (PMs), Finance, and Legal to support federal contracting activities in compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other applicable U.S. Government requirements. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Review, draft, and negotiate federal prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, NDAs, and joint venture agreements in coordination with internal stakeholders and Legal
- Identify contractual, financial, and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Maintain complete and accurate contract files, including agreements, modifications, and supporting documentation
- Support DCAA and DCMA audits and related compliance reviews
- Prepare and maintain required disclosures and reporting, including SAM, CMRS, eSRS, FSRS, and Certificates of Insurance
- Prequalify subcontractors by evaluating past performance, financial stability, reputation, socioeconomic status, and federal compliance; maintain a subcontractor database
- Develop subcontractor master service agreements and task order subcontracts for IDIQ contracts
- Support development of Statements of Work, terms and conditions, pricing structures, flow-down clauses, schedules, and change orders
- Review subcontractor invoices and collaborate with Finance to resolve billing or payment issues
- Ensure proper clause flow-down and compliance with contract specifications, laws, and regulations
- Track and report contract deliverables, milestones, and compliance requirements
- Support solicitation development, proposal reviews, and contract negotiations
- Assist internal teams with the use and interpretation of standard contract templates
- Contribute to the improvement of contract templates, playbooks, processes, and guidance materials
- Analyze contract review data and trends using Excel
- Support contract organization, archiving, and records management
- Participate in special projects to enhance contracting processes and promote continuous improvement
Education | Experience:
What you will bring to our firm:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in federal contracting
- Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific supplements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across internal and external teams
- Nominal business travel to client sites and GFT offices may be required.
What we prefer you bring:
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint and/or Vantagepoint
- Active federal security clearance
- Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) certification
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $120,000.00 - $140,000.00. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
