ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Functional & Technical Skills
- Translate requirements into a system architecture and detailed design.
- Design and develop complex mechanical systems, equipment, and products for industrial machinery.
- Determine feasibility of modifying existing or designing new equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors.
- Validate designs through analysis and testing.
Operational Excellence
- Coordinate own design efforts to meet production schedules and provide project task estimates and updates to project team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education:BS in Mechanical Engineering Experience:0+ years of experience developing and maintaining mechanical system designs. Licenses/Certifications:Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of business software including MS Office suite.
- Collaborate with others to clarify requirements and develop solutions.
- Lead design reviews consisting of multi-disciplined and cross functional team members.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience:0+ years experience in the following:
- Railroads, transportation, agricultural, or heavy construction equipment design.
- Power systems, engineer integration into power units and generator sets (up to 2000 Hp/1.3MW).
- Complex/large scale machine layout and kinematic design.
- Large scale structural design and analysis.
Licenses/Certifications:EIT Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP software
