Georgia-Pacific's plant in Diboll, TXhas an incredible opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This is a highly skilled hourly position requiring a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, have strong initiative and collaborate effectively and efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
Our Mechanical Maintenance Technicians must be willing to work any shift, including but not limited to 12-hour rotating shifts or Days and can include weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Our Team
Georgia-Pacific's Diboll Particleboard facility uses state of the art innovation and technology to manufacture particle board for the construction and cabinetry industry. Our particle board is used primarily in custom cabinetry and in self-assembled cabinetry sold by international furniture stores. What You Will Do
  • Perform mechanical inspections, repair and perform maintenance on all machinery and equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission and steam systems
  • Utilize computer systems to input work orders, identify parts, maintain records such as labor hours and PM findings, etc.
  • Replace defective parts with new parts or repairing/reproducing parts using welding, drill press, surface grinder and other machine shop equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled or assigned
  • Assist with creating job plans for future reference on repair jobs
  • Share knowledge through training and providing technical assistance to other team members
  • Perform other related duties and completes projects as assigned
  • Adhere to and promote all safety policies and to include wearing necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Work in high places in excess of 80 feet, using man lifts and working in confined spaces
  • Performing work that entails lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least twelve (12) hours a day
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and pumps
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working in the Industrial Maintenance field
  • Experience with fabrication and welding
  • Experience mentoring Mechanical Maintenance Technicians
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps, lubrication
  • Experience with Machine Tool and Die
  • Experience with reading blueprints and precision measurements
  • Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
  • Completion of a mechanical Trade School program and/or Apprenticeship program
  • High school diploma or GED
