As a Security Officer - Commercial Plaza Patrol Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control while delivering standout customer service. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial property.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, alarms, disturbances, and/or suspicious activity.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the property, including parking areas, common areas, stairwells, and perimeter points, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor and operate security-related systems and equipment as assigned, such as CCTV, intrusion alarms, fire panels, and/or access control systems, and report irregular conditions per site procedures.
- Control access at designated entrances, loading areas, and/or garage gates by verifying credentials, following visitor management procedures, and maintaining orderly entry and exit flow.
- Document daily activities, patrol results, incidents, and/or policy violations in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate updates to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
- Provide direction and assistance during property events, deliveries, and/or tenant move-ins and move-outs, including coordinating with property management and responding to requests for service.
- Perform building checks such as verifying doors are secured, lights are functioning, and restricted areas are not accessed, escalating issues to the appropriate point of contact.
- Interact with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders when needed, preserving scene details, relaying observations, and following site-specific reporting requirements.
- Follow all Allied Universal and site-specific policies, including professionalism standards, radio protocol, and post orders, while maintaining a customer-focused presence during all assigned shifts.
Minimum Requirements: - - Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- - Be at least 21 years of age.
- - A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- - Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- - Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
