Torch Technologies is seeking a DevSecOps engineer to provide software integration and execution support to United States Space Force (USSF) STARCOM. The position requires an individual possessing a wide range of skills and demonstrated experience in deploying and executing software in an automated environment. In this role, you will be assessing the ability to deploy and execute Modeling and Simulation (M&S) software in containerized and automated environments potentially including but not limited to on-premise clouds, Kubernetes environments, or public clouds (AWS, Azure, etc). Enhanced Focus Areas: This position specifically emphasizes engineering the approach for executing M&S software in a DevSecOps environment.

As a DevSecOps Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Developing containerization and DevSecOps pipelines for M&S software.

  • Capture requirements for existing MS&A tools like AFRL's AFSIM, or SMDC's EADSIM to execute in a cloud/containerized environment

  • Automate provisioning and configuration of build/test environments for Linux and Windows.

  • Test and benchmark the execution of software in a DevSecOps environment

  • Manage the DevSecOps toolchain (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, artifact repositories, deployment tools, etc).

  • Prepare and present reports, briefings, and conclusions

  • Brief and interact with senior-level officers (i.e., GO/FLAG) and senior civilians

  • Lead requirements development and documentation for distributed M&S architectures

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related STEM field (master's degree highly preferred)

  • 5+ years software engineering, networking engineering, or infrastructure engineering including hardware/software integration

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent)

  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in at least one of the following:

Software engineering

Cloud architecture

Network and IT systems engineering

Technical Skills Required

  • Proficient in Java, C++, python, typescript or a closely related language

  • Proficient with shell scripting languages like Bash, AWK, sed, Perl, Python

  • Strong quantitative and analytic abilities to integrate and analyze data

  • IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation) and config management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, DSC).

  • Linux and Windows server hardening & compliance (RMF/STIG).

  • Expertise using the Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially when communicating technical information to audiences with varying backgrounds

Salary Range - Colorado: $125000-$140,000
