Job Purpose

To perform and support the study, analysis and design of the Company's upstate New York retail electric tariffs, delivery service rates, cost recovery surcharges, rate plan filings, and other retail pricing related products and initiatives.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide support and development of electric rate design, cost of service studies, electric revenue forecasts, tariff fees, and tariffs, in support of the Company's electric rate case filings and settlement discussions.
  • Support development of pricing and tariffs for electric programs resulting from Company initiatives or proceedings of the NY Public Service Commission, such as time of use pricing rate designs, electric vehicle rate programs, distributed energy resources compensation programs, energy affordability programs, clean energy programs, etc.
  • Serve as an expert company witness and provide testimony, as needed, in support of various proposals before regulatory commissions. Respond to interrogatories and submit compliance filings as needed for regulatory approval.
  • Perform cost reconciliations and surcharge rate setting, prepare electric revenue forecasts, provide analysis of retail sales data and customer bill impact analyses, respond to internal and external customer requests for billing and rate support, and provide guidance in the interpretation of retail delivery service tariffs.
  • Support billing implementation of various rate changes and retail pricing programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas is required: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, or related field. An advanced related degree is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Previous work experience in one of the related areas is required.
  • Quantitative skills for rate analysis, cost reconciliations, bill computations, data analysis
  • Experience with Microsoft products, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of additional data analysis tools is desirable.
