The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. Job Summary: The Lead Terminal Revenue Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations and revenue reporting of Sunoco LP terminal facilities. This role involves ensuring accurate revenue recognition, compliance with accounting standards, and providing detailed financial analysis to support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Revenue Recognition:
    • Ensure timely and accurate recognition of revenue from terminal operations.
    • Monitor contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies.
    • Prepare and review journal entries related to revenue transactions.
  2. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to terminal revenue
    • Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations
    • Ensure all financial reports are in compliance with GAAP
  3. Reconciliation and Analysis:
    • Perform regular reconciliation of revenue accounts.
    • Analyze revenue trends and variances to provide insights and recommendations.
    • Collaborate with operations and finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
  4. Audit and Compliance:
    • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
    • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting revenue recognition.
  5. Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
    • Develop and maintain documentation of revenue accounting processes and procedures
  6. Oversight:
    • Review the work of revenue accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering their professional growth.
    • Coordinate and manage the workload of the revenue accounting team to ensure deadlines are met.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Revenue recognition.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:



  • The Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
