Job Description

The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking an Offensive Coordinator to support the development, training, and performance of the Mizzou Football program. Reporting to the Head Football Coach, this position will play a key role in on-field coaching, player development, recruiting, and game strategy. The position will work closely with student-athletes, other coaches, athletic staff, and support personnel to enhance team success and ensure compliance with NCAA and SEC regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Offensive Strategy and Game Planning (40%)

  • Design, install, and implement a comprehensive offensive system aligned with the Head Coach's philosophy and SEC competition standards.
  • Develop weekly and seasonal offensive game plans, including play-calling responsibilities on game day.
  • Analyze opponent tendencies using film breakdown and analytics to optimize offensive performance.
  • Oversee offensive adjustments during games and throughout the season to maximize effectiveness.

2. Coaching and Player Development (25%)

  • Directly coach assigned position group(s) while supervising and mentoring all offensive assistant coaches.
  • Develop individual player skill progression, football IQ, and leadership qualities.
  • Collaborate with strength and conditioning, sports performance, and athletic training staff to support athlete health and development.
  • Promote academic accountability, personal growth, and positive conduct among student-athletes.

3. Recruiting and Roster Management (20%)

  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and recruiting prospective student-athletes consistent with program needs and university standards.
  • Participate in on-campus recruiting activities, official visits, and evaluations at high schools and camps.
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach and personnel staff on roster construction, scholarship management, and NIL considerations within university and NCAA guidelines.

4. Program Support and Collaboration (10%)

  • Support a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture within the Football program.
  • Represent the football program professionally at university, conference, alumni, and donor-related functions as assigned.

5. Other Duties (5%)

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletics administration.
  • Ensure compliance with University, NCAA, and SEC rules, policies, and procedures.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in a NCAA Division I Football Program is preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
