Description

As MISO's Unified Incident Response Manager, you will oversee the Unified Incident Response (UIR) Team's projects, initiatives, and ongoing activities related to incident response and business continuity. You'll collaborate with the Director to develop, communicate, and execute the UIR team's strategic vision, ensuring alignment with MISO's Information Security Strategy and corporate priorities. You'll also establish and maintain standardized processes and procedures for responding to emergencies or incidents, regardless of size or impact. Lead the long-term growth and enhancement of the unified incident response program, focusing on business continuity, training, preparedness, and assessing evolving threats.

As MISO's Unified Incident Response Manager, you will:



  • Work with teams across MISO to ensure the incident response program supports business needs, continuity planning, and overall strategy, serving as a key partner to leaders and experts.
  • Create and oversee incident response processes to enhance readiness, resilience, and risk management.
  • Set team priorities, delegate tasks, and ensure critical projects are completed successfully.
  • Lead company-wide training and preparedness efforts for incidents that could impact MISO and the bulk electric system.
  • Stay updated on best practices and industry trends, identifying opportunities to improve MISO's incident response program.
  • Manage employee performance and provide training and development opportunities in line with company goals.
  • Plan and oversee department budgets to ensure resources are used effectively.
  • Handle hiring needs, including writing job descriptions, interviewing, and filling positions efficiently.


Qualifications for the Unified Incident Response Manager:



  • Bachelor's degree in, Criminal Justice, Disaster or Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or related field, (or 4 years relevant work experience equivalency) required
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities via mentoring relationships, leading initiatives with strong collaboration, or leading ad hoc teams (preferred)
  • 5+ years of Emergency Management/Homeland security
  • Specific experience within any of the following: Risk Management, IT Cyber threat, Experience in local, state or federal emergency management or public safety (preferred)
  • Previous energy industry experience (preferred)


Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $159,000 - $184,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
