Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical/Electronics Engineer II (EE2) to provide intermediate-level engineering support for shipboard and laboratory cybersecurity systems across U.S. Navy platforms. This role supports system design, documentation, installation, test activities, hardware troubleshooting, and engineering change implementation. The EE2 will work closely with senior engineers, technicians, and program personnel to ensure systems are accurately designed, properly installed, and thoroughly tested to meet mission and cybersecurity requirements.

This position is ideal for an engineer with several years of hands-on experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility in technical execution, documentation development, and on-site support activities aboard Navy ships and in Navy laboratories.

Responsibilities



  • Develop, review, and update drawing packages, including wiring diagrams, rack elevations, ICDs (Interface Control Documents), block diagrams, and as-built documentation.
  • Assist with creation and updates to technical manuals, installation procedures, and test documentation.
  • Perform shipboard configuration loads, ensuring correct installation and connection of HM&E cybersecurity system components.
  • Conduct repair and fabrication of cable harnesses, including:

    • Connector assembly
    • Pinout verification
    • Terminal box wiring
    • Cable routing and dressing


  • Support equipment rack installation/removal, including mounting, cabling, labeling, and verification activities.
  • Perform troubleshooting on electrical equipment, circuits, switches, sensors, and network-enabled components to identify and resolve faults.
  • Support unit, integration, and system-level testing, documenting results and assisting with corrective actions.
  • Maintain Configuration Management (CM) for shipboard installations, ensuring accurate version control and documentation updates.
  • Participate in ship checks and site surveys to gather system data, assess installation requirements, and validate existing configurations.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement engineering changes, resolve technical issues, and update installation documentation.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with Navy standards, cybersecurity requirements, safety protocols, and quality assurance measures.
  • Provide remote and onsite technical support as required by mission needs.
  • Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations to support ship checks, installations, testing, and meetings with government customers or field teams.


Required Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Three (3) years of professional engineering experience as a systems, electrical, or electronics engineer AND one of the following:

    • Three (3) years troubleshooting hardware/software systems in NCS, ICS, or warehouse automation environments; or
    • Three (3) years reading, creating, or maintaining electrical schematics and/or network diagrams; or
    • Three (3) years troubleshooting network-based systems.


  • Strong experience working with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and network diagrams.
  • Proficiency with cabling, harness fabrication, connector work, and hands-on hardware troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with NCS/ICS, control systems, or network-enabled equipment.
  • Knowledge of configuration and version control processes.
  • Ability to complete Government-mandated training (OPSEC, CUI handling, Cybersecurity 101, etc.).
  • CSWF: IAT Level I certification (or ability to obtain shortly after hire).
  • Ability to support onsite and remote technical tasks depending on project needs.
  • Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS as required.
  • Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.


Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is up to $69,951. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
