The SWIFT Clinician is a new role within the Student Well-being, Intervention, and Follow-Through(SWIFT) department, a part of the Mental Health Initiatives team within the division of Health Well-Being and Safety (HWS). This position provides clinical intervention, assessment, education and prevention for a wide range of mental health challenges students may experience. In this role, the SWIFT Clinician will provide professional mental health crisis assessment, treatment/intervention and prevention services in support UC Riverside's commitment to re-envisioning campus safety and policing towards a welcoming service oriented, and community-centric university campus. The incumbent will also promote a campus culture emphasizing fair, collaborative, and trusting community relationships, and respectful and humane methods for mental health and campus safety. The person in this role must be a skilled professional who is multi-culturally proficient/affirming, has experience with trauma-informed care, and demonstrates their experience in providing crisis intervention services. The incumbent will play a critical role to achieving the unit's organizational objectives. The incumbent will respond to crisis situations and may deliver on- and off-site, immediate and personalized interventions within a framework of inclusion, excellence, and social justice. Because the nature of support needed for students in crisis may occur out of the office, services provided out on-campus will be in a co-response model with accompaniment of the newly formed Campus Safety Responder (CSR) team member (a specially trained non-sworn professional trained in de-escalation).This role will also help students navigate resources on- and off-campus, and support students who have challenges related to post-hospitalization/discharge from state or local psychiatric hospitals. Additionally, this role will be asked to work outside of non-traditional work hours.

The salary range for the SWIFT Clinician is $78,700.00 - $145,100.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $105,000.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
