Position Description

The Texas Tech University Postgraduate Intercollegiate Athletics Intership is intended to provide on-the-job learning experiences for college graduates interested in pursuing a career in various areas of intercollegiate athletics. This program can last 12-36 months.

Future leaders will experience administration principles such as:

- Applying a standard of ethics to policy and administrative context
- Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of current operations within area of assignment
- Communicating relevant information and ideas
- Managing university resources to achieve organizational goals

Major/Essential Functions


  • Complete monthly expense reports (P-Card and travel card)
  • Manage office inventory and maintain office snacks
  • Assist with autograph requests
  • Support the Director of Administration and Operations with planning team functions (e.g., team Christmas party, team dinners, events at the head coach's house)
  • Provide tours to guests at the Womble facility
  • Maintain inventory of giveaway items (e.g., T-shirts, pens, promotional items)
  • Assist with donor gift deliveries
  • Position requires a highly flexible schedule, with hours that may vary between mornings, evenings, and weekends, depending on the team's practice, game, and travel schedule
  • Perform errands as needed
  • Execute additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and previous experience with collegiate or professional athletics.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous experience in administrative support, athletics operations, or event coordination
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, expense-reporting systems, and basic inventory management
  • Experience managing or supporting hospitality functions, tours, or guest services
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Familiarity with donor relations or athletics department operations
