Job Summary: The Photo and Video Specialist captures and produces high-quality photo and video assets that support Palisades Tahoe's brand storytelling and business priorities. This role is responsible for planning shoots, capturing content in the field, editing deliverables to spec, and maintaining an organized, searchable asset library. Work is executed with clear awareness of downstream channel requirements, campaign timelines, and usage goals, ensuring each asset is created in the right format, style, and quality for its intended purpose.

Hourly:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $22.96 - $32.14 per hour

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:
  • Capture and produce content aligned with Palisades Tahoe brand standards and business priorities, translating creative direction into strong visual outputs.
  • Plan and execute shoots with final usage in mind, adapting approach based on intended channel specs, creative formats, and campaign needs.
  • Capture daily and campaign-based still and video content including snow/conditions, action sports, events, lifestyle, resort product, scenic imagery, and guest experience moments with a consistent brand lens.
  • Capture video content for marketing and resort communication needs including b-roll, action sequences, lifestyle vignettes, interviews, and short-form storytelling.
  • Edit and assemble final content assets for technical quality, brand tone, pacing, sound, and visual impact, ensuring every deliverable meets project specifications.
  • Produce short-form video edits from start to finish, applying branded motion elements, transitions, captions, and simple graphics as required by creative direction.
  • Deliver assets in multiple formats and versions when needed, ensuring correct sizing, aspect ratios, labeling, and export settings for downstream use.
  • Maintain consistent production standards in winter environments, including safe and effective on-snow capture in variable resort conditions.
  • Direct athletes, guests, or staff during shoots as needed, ensuring clarity, confidence on camera, and safe execution while capturing authentic moments.
  • Coordinate shoot logistics including location scouting, scheduling, talent planning, on-mountain access, gear prep, and adaptive planning around weather and operations.
  • Organize, tag, and archive raw and finished content using established naming conventions, metadata standards, and shared library practices for fast retrieval and reuse.
  • Maintain, transport, and operate production equipment including cameras, lenses, audio kits, lighting tools, stabilization systems, and action cameras; test gear before use and flag maintenance needs.
  • Track assignments and timelines in Basecamp (or designated system), communicating progress clearly and managing workload across multiple stakeholders.
  • Stay current on content trends, platform requirements, and production tools to continuously improve capture and post-production quality.
  • Support quick-turn capture and editing needs tied to real-time resort priorities such as conditions, events, and promotions, while balancing planned campaign work.


Competencies and Job Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to tell brand-aligned stories through still and motion content, with strong instincts for composition, light, motion, and emotional tone.
  • Advanced capture skills in a winter resort environment, including action sports, lifestyle, events, and scenic content.
  • Strong post-production ability including editing, color correction, audio cleanup, and motion treatments while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Proven ability to deliver content sets that meet varying format/spec requirements while keeping campaign cohesion.
  • Highly organized approach to content management, including file structure, naming, tagging, and shared library maintenance.
  • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines, including last-minute needs driven by business levels or operational demand.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to accept direction and incorporate feedback efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced outdoor environments, adapting to changing weather, terrain, and priorities.
  • Ability to flex schedule as needed for seven-day resort operations, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 75 % or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50lbs. Must capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and balancing, able to climb ladders and shovel snow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.

Equipment Used in Job: Mac/PC, professional cameras and lenses, action cameras, audio kits, lighting equipment, gimbals/stabilizers, drones (if certified), skis/snowboard, and standard office equipment.

Education and Experience:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in film, video, communications, media, content production, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional still and video content production experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud tools including Premiere, After Effects (or equivalent motion tool), Photoshop, and Lightroom.
  • Solid technical background in video/audio capture, lighting, and field production standards.
  • Strong portfolio/reel demonstrating action, lifestyle, and brand storytelling content.
  • Proficient in Mac and PC environments.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred:
  • Ski industry or outdoor/action sports experience.
  • Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability with strong on-mountain awareness. Drone experience and FAA Part 107 certification.
  • Still capture experience beyond action sports (portraits, product, events).
  • Familiarity with Palisades Tahoe terrain, programs, facilities, and events.
  • AIRE 1 certification and backcountry experience.
