Position Overview

Position Summary
Under limited direction of the Athletic Director, the Athletics Business Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all business administration activities in the department of athletics.


Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all athletic department finances including working with the Athletic Director (AD) to set yearly budgets, work with coaches to manage team budgets and reconciliation of all athletic accounts.
  • Manage NCAA, EADA, and LSC financial reporting and oversee all audits related to NCAA reports.
  • Ensure proper processing of all procurement, travel, inventories, accounts payable and receivable, billing, contracts, revenue reconciliations, camps, and other auxiliary revenues and expenses.
  • Monitor operational and agency accounts, providing regular updates to the Athletic Director and Head Coaches.
  • Assist with compliance efforts related to NCAA documentation and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the ENMU Business Affairs office to ensure financial processes are aligned with university policies
  • Provide ongoing training to athletics department staff on university business and personnel functions in accordance with ENMU policies and procedures
  • Support corporate partnership efforts, including recording and documentation, invoicing, and coordinating with the Business Affairs office.
  • Regular and predictable attendance required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of NCAA rules and regulations regarding financial reporting, scholarships, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of general business operations, including budgeting, travel management, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reconciliation in a sports setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with coaches, staff, external organizations, and regulatory bodies.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and projects.
  • High level of attention to detail, particularly in managing financial reports, budgets, and documentation.
  • Skill in providing training or guidance to staff on financial procedures, university policies, or compliance matters.
  • Skills in providing high-level support to coaches, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, while still maintaining communication with the Athletic Director and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to stay informed and adapt to changes in NCAA regulations, university policies, and business practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams, including coaches, compliance officers, business staff, and external organizations

Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

  • Work is generally performed during normal work hours and will require some evening or weekend hours.
  • Work is mainly sedentary in nature but will require periods of standing and movement.
  • May require exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
