Role description

Job Title: Business Central Technical Consultant
Experience: 10+ Years


About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Central Technical Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central, with proven expertise in solution design, custom development, and technical leadership. This role involves collaborating closely with clients and project teams to deliver scalable, robust, and innovative Business Central solutions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Solution Design & Architecture:
    Lead the technical design and architecture of complex Business Central solutions, ensuring alignment with client requirements, industry best practices, and the Business Central technical framework.



  • Custom Development:
    Develop, customize, and extend Business Central functionalities using AL (Application Language) within Visual Studio Code, ensuring high-quality and maintainable code.



  • Data Migration & Integration:
    Design and implement data migration strategies and build seamless integrations with external systems, utilizing REST APIs, web services, and Azure technologies.



  • Performance Optimization:
    Analyze system performance and optimize Business Central applications and databases to maintain stability, scalability, and responsiveness.



  • Technical Leadership:
    Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior and mid-level developers, conducting code reviews, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.



  • Client Collaboration:
    Work closely with project managers and clients to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and deliver expert technical guidance.



  • Troubleshooting & Support:
    Offer advanced technical support, promptly troubleshoot complex issues, and resolve system bugs efficiently to minimize downtime.




Required Skills & Qualifications:


  • Technical Expertise:




    • 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Technical Consultant with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central.



    • Extensive experience with AL development and AL extensions in a modern development environment.



    • Proficient in legacy C/AL development language.



    • Deep understanding of Dynamics 365 Business Central architecture (both SaaS and on-premise).



    • Strong knowledge of integration technologies, including REST APIs, OData, and web services.



    • Experience with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Functions and Logic Apps.



    • Familiarity with Power Platform for automation and integrations.





  • Leadership & Soft Skills:




    • Proven ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior developers.



    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.



    • Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.



    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.





  • Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory):




    • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer.
