Responsibilities

Job SummaryThe Emergency Department (ED) requires a dedicated RN-level role to ensure timely follow-up on patient results, complete chart audits, submit data to state and registry databases, and lead quality improvement initiatives. This role bridges clinical care and operational quality, directly impacting patient safety, throughput, and regulatory compliance. This role serves as a key liaison to optimize patient safety, reduce return visits, and enhance operational efficiency across the ED network. Job Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with physicians, ED pharmacists, and ED nurse supervisors/relief supervisors, this role will proactively review and follow up on In Basket results for Emergency Department (ED) patients across the network. The scope includes ensuring timely communication of critical results, coordinating appropriate clinical follow-up, and supporting continuity of care by bridging gaps between ED discharge and outpatient management.
  • Promotes a comprehensive, standardized system of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest care. Including the review of "chain of survival"-bystander response, dispatcher CPR instruction, Emergency Medical Services provider resuscitation, and standardized care at each hospital through data entry in registries as outlined by state regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and support quality improvement initiatives specific to the ED service line, aimed at enhancing patient care, improving clinical outcomes, and driving operational excellence. Responsibilities include identifying opportunities for improvement, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and implementing evidence-based practices to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Education
  • Associate's degree from an accredited NLN /CCNE institution in nursing or Master's degree in Social Work - Required
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing degree from an accredited NLN /CCNE institution in nursing - Preferred
Experience
  • 3 years as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department - Required
License and Certifications
  • Nursing\RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure Or Social Worker - LMSW or LSCW - Required
  • Certification in Case Management - Preferred
