The Azure Core team builds and manages the foundational platform that powers compute, storage, and networking services. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of cloud computing and work on technologies that impact millions of users worldwide.Our team, Azure Host Storage, is responsible for delivering the storage virtualization platform that supports Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and containers. We manage the entire storage stack on the Azure host, including input/output (I/O) handling, data caching, throttling, encryption, and offloading I/O processing into silicon to improve efficiency and performance.This role offers the chance to work on large-scale distributed systems and cutting-edge storage technologies while collaborating with teams across Microsoft to deliver secure and reliable solutions for cloud workloads.Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. ResponsibilitiesContribute to the next generation of Host Storage Control path to improve the availability and performance of Azure VMsCollaborate with various stakeholders to enable various end-user scenariosImprove the control path architecture to enhance platform reliability, performance while reducing the Azure Host resource usageCreate and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.Other * Embody our culture and values
