SUMMARY

The Human Resources Business Partner II(HRBP) is responsible for supporting leaders and employees with a wide range of HR initiatives, operational processes and procedures, tactical issues and employee relations efforts. The HRBP builds positive working relationships and acts as a contact for leaders and employees within the Gallman, Prairie and Madison plants. Primary location is Gallman, MS.

Located onsite M-F

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs

  • Maintain knowledge of company systems (Workday, SAP, Training Exchange) and utilize them to create and update employee records and drive the recruiting, compensation, performance, hire and termination processes

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of company-offered benefits. Present benefits to new hires and offer periodic meetings to explain benefit programs to employees. Support the annual benefit enrollment.

  • Recruit, interview, test and select salaried and hourly employees for client group

  • Manage and conduct new hire onboarding to foster positive impression of business unit

  • Administer salary and hourly compensations programs to ensure compliance and equity within the client group. Lead the annual merit and general wage increase processes for assigned plants

  • Administer vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and other employee related reports requested by management

  • Prepare new hire and termination documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine termination reason

  • Manage substance abuse testing for pre-hire, randoms, and reasonable suspicion

  • Act as backup for payroll approval and submission

  • Manage the creation and maintenance of communication to assigned plants

  • Represent organization and employee related hearings and investigations

  • Manage company sponsored events and programs such as community outreach

  • Coordinate client group training with client group and human resources management.

  • Support corporate HR initiatives and projects.

  • Any additional duties and tasks as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. SHRM or HRCI certified professional preferred.

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years progressive HR experience. 3+ years' experience in a generalist/functional role with exposure to compensation, performance management, training, labor relation. Manufacturing experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear and is frequently required to use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Individual will be required to walk through the plant (industrial area) and must be able to see obstacles, hear alarms, and be able to move out of the path of forklifts. Mental requirements include logical reasoning and the ability to learn new tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel can be up to as much as 10% including air travel or auto travel.
