Senior Accountant McLean, VA Pay From: $100,000 per year MUST: Experienced Senior Accountant Clearable 5+ years of Experience in Accounting/Finance Role 2+ years of Experience in Government Contracting 2+ years of Experience in Payroll Processing Experience supporting audits and tax filings is a plus. Experience with Unanet Working knowledge of GAAP, FAR and DCAA compliance. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field DUTIES: Manage daily cash flow activities, including bank reconciliations and account monitoring. Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Process payroll in compliance with federal, state, and contractual requirements; ensure timely and accurate quarterly and annual filings. Lead month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Monitor and respond to inquiries from the accounting inbox in a timely and professional manner. Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes. Assist with tax planning, preparation, and coordination of annual audits. Reconcile time and expense entries between internal systems and partner platforms, resolving discrepancies as needed. Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and contractors within the accounting system, ensuring proper documentation and protocol adherence.
