Overview

We are seeking a Chemical Intake Coordinator (RN), also referred to as a Chemical Stabilization Intake Coordinator. The Chemical Intake Coordinator (RN) works in the field of addiction treatment in an 18 bed unit. They are the initial point of contact for individuals seeking treatment for chemical dependency and substance abuse. This role involves guiding potential patients through the initial admissions and screening process. This position is 50% inhouse and 50% marketing to the surrounding counties about our program.

Shifts Available: Days

Hours: 8-hour shifts - 8:00am to 4:30pm and some weekend work

Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center - Gadsden, AL



Responsibilities

Responsibilities

    Assesses the needs of walk-in and phone callers and ensures their referral to the service or resource that best addresses those needs.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes in-patient bed reservations and placement; ensure the seamless admission of the patient to the appropriate level of care.
  • Is responsible for advising, informing and assisting the physician and the physicians office before and during hospitalization; informs them of hospital policies and procedures relative to their patients stay.


Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  • Must have current valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.
  • Basics Understanding of Chemical Dependency.
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Minimum two (2) years; experience with Chemical Stabilization patients and two (2) years; experience in coordinating level of care assessment.
  • Behavioral Violence Prevention training within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Chemical detox experience is strongly preferred
  • BSN/Masters degree in Human Services. Psychology, Counseling, Substance Abuse, Criminal Justice or related field preferred.

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

  • Case management experience
