The Leidos Enterprise & Cyber Solutions Defense Group is seeking a Network Documentation Writer to work on the Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) - Increment 1 (INC1) program. The Global Enterprise Network Modernization - OCONUS (GENM-O) is a critical mission provider responsible for keeping the Army connected through global network modernization projects. The Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) - Increment 1 (INC1) will unify the next generation of Army transport to comply with the Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) divestiture mandate. A phased systematic approach is required to provide individual sites with standardized, updated technology systems to ensure the Army's Information Technology (IT) infrastructure is equipped to provide soldiers with cutting-edge technology to ensure applications, data, and enterprise services are accessible, trusted, and interoperable across the globe.

The Network Documentation Writer will be part of the Systems, Engineering, and Installation (SE&I) team that performs site surveys, network engineering, hardware installations and network documentation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Creates and edits deliverable documentation for the AGUN network, including pre-installation drawings, red-lined drawings and final as-built drawings.

  • Creates and edits physical connectivity diagrams, device view connection, rack elevations, floor plans, hostname cutsheets, inside plant drawings, etc.

  • Creates Life Cycle Plans by site to provide information on the installed systems warranty coverage and maintenance procedures.

  • Works with other team members, including Test, Configuration and Remote Engineers to provide input on test reports or configurations.

  • Works closely with SE&I Engineers and other technical teams to understand site requirements and infrastructure to create and document the planned (to-be) architecture.

  • Participates in Technical or Engineering Review Boards to review documentation and provide input, recommend changes and approvals.

  • Mentors/trains SE&I Engineers on documentation development and standards.

  • Represent Leidos and work directly with Government customers on diagrams, topologies, and architecture.

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • US Citizen with a Secret security clearance.

  • 8570 IAT II and OS certifications

  • Understanding of networks, topologies and architecture.

  • Ability to create comprehensive network documentation and explain technical information/documentation to audiences.

  • Strong teamwork and communications skills to work with Engineers and collaborate on documentation.

  • Experience using MS Visio or draw.io to create diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working within Army's IT infrastructure.

  • Direct or indirect experience working on the Joint Regional Security Stacks.

  • Registered Communication Distribution Designer
