Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Plant Manager at our consumer products operation in Plattsburgh, NY. The Plant Manager leads a cross-functional team to success while ensuring a safe and injury/incident-free environment in our fast-paced plant. They motivate, coach, and inspire by demonstrating, promoting, and applying Georgia-Pacific's Principled Based Management in daily actions and decisions to deliver maximum value to the business and our customers.

Our Team

The Plattsburgh Mill employs roughly 95 employees working in a 24x7 operating environment. The dedicated team ensures safety, quality, and reliable operation of state-of-the-art innovation and technology to manufacture Quilted Northern Ultra Plush Tissue for consumer markets.

What You Will Do

  • Lead a team aligned to our company vision where individuals understand how they best create value
  • Apply our management philosophy, Principled Based Management, to foster a culture where employees are empowered with a high sense of ownership and development
  • Embrace and manage change to drive innovation and process improvements
  • Utilize performance data and analytical techniques to identify and realize greatest opportunities
  • Facilitate team and employee development, problem-solving and resolution, building employee commitment and ownership, and holding teams accountable for results
  • Take accountability of safety quality and efficiency through leadership, individual ownership and accountability, teamwork, and delegation
  • Use critical & economic thinking, challenge process, and team collaboration to resolve issues and drive innovation, efficiency, and safety excellence

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience supervising and developing people leaders within an industrial, manufacturing, or other production environment
  • Transformation experience utilizing automation and advanced technology to improve operations
  • Experience utilizing constraint analysis and continuous improvement to prioritize work and solve complex issues

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Experience working within a paper mill or converting operation

For this role, we anticipate paying $150,000- $190,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
