Responsibilities
- Completes mandatory annual ACE modules in a timely manner
- Uses appropriate safety precautions.
- Supports the current Accreditation Organization, ISO, Federal, and State Regulations.
- Supports patient safety and compliance goals.
- Attends departmental meetings per policy.
- Complies with BSA's Code of Compliance.
- Complies with policies as appropriate.
- Regular attendance at work as required by department operations.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA at all times.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills appropriate to a professional atmosphere.
- Uses IPOD And Epic systems efficiently.
- Responsible for adding, canceling, or updating transport jobs in EPIC.
- Transport patients to and from inpatient units, diagnostic areas, surgical suites, and other hospital departments.
- Assist patients in and out of wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds while ensuring safety and comfort.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, clinical teams, and patients regarding transport needs and schedules.
- Transport equipment, medical supplies, and specimens as assigned.
- Respond promptly to transport requests using hospital communication systems.
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of wheelchairs, stretchers, and other transport equipment.
- Observe patients for signs of distress and report concerns immediately to nursing staff.
- Uphold infection control and safety protocols, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Provide courteous and respectful service to patients, families, and hospital staff.
