Responsibilities

  • Completes mandatory annual ACE modules in a timely manner
  • Uses appropriate safety precautions.
  • Supports the current Accreditation Organization, ISO, Federal, and State Regulations.
  • Supports patient safety and compliance goals.
  • Attends departmental meetings per policy.
  • Complies with BSA's Code of Compliance.
  • Complies with policies as appropriate.
  • Regular attendance at work as required by department operations.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA at all times.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills appropriate to a professional atmosphere.
  • Uses IPOD And Epic systems efficiently.
  • Responsible for adding, canceling, or updating transport jobs in EPIC.
  • Transport patients to and from inpatient units, diagnostic areas, surgical suites, and other hospital departments.
  • Assist patients in and out of wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds while ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, clinical teams, and patients regarding transport needs and schedules.
  • Transport equipment, medical supplies, and specimens as assigned.
  • Respond promptly to transport requests using hospital communication systems.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of wheelchairs, stretchers, and other transport equipment.
  • Observe patients for signs of distress and report concerns immediately to nursing staff.
  • Uphold infection control and safety protocols, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Provide courteous and respectful service to patients, families, and hospital staff.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma / GED.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Some college classes.
