Job Description
Founded in 1961, Sensor Systems (sensorantennas.com) is the largest supplier of antennas for commercial, business, and military aircraft. Our facility is located in Chatsworth, California, where we design, manufacture, and test our products, delivering to a global customer base.
We are looking for an experiences HR Manager to join our team. This position is full-time, Monday-Thursday and is an in-person role.
Requirements
This position is responsible for directing the planning, development, implementation, administration and budgeting of the Human Resources function, including but not limited to the following: employment, recruitment, employee relations, EEO, compensation/benefits and organizational development.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
- Lead and manage the Human Resources and Payroll departments, ensuring alignment with company goals and HEICO policies.
- Partner with senior management to develop and execute HR strategies that support operational performance, retention, and employee engagement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational structure, staffing, and employee development.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour, FMLA/CFRA, ADA, EEO, and OSHA.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct investigations, recommend corrective actions, and maintain documentation consistent with company policy and legal requirements.
- Administer all leaves of absence, including medical and workers' compensation, ensuring accurate records and compliance.
- Develop and implement effective recruiting, hiring, and onboarding strategies for both exempt and non-exempt positions. Maintain accurate job descriptions and support workforce planning to ensure staffing levels meet operational demands.
- Administer compensation programs, salary reviews, and incentive plans to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness. Support annual merit planning and budget development.
- Oversee the performance evaluation process, ensuring timely completion and linkage to development and compensation outcomes. Lead employee engagement and recognition programs.
- Manage benefits programs and coordinate with HEICO corporate HR.
- Develop, update, and maintain company policies, procedures, and Employee Handbook to reflect current legal requirements and company practices.
- Maintain required reports and records, including AAP, EEO-1, and OSHA 300 logs.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing and HR recordkeeping (ADP).
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with managers to improve communication, morale, and retention across all departments.
- Coordinate with legal counsel, insurance providers, and external investigators for employment-related claims and audits. Prepare reports and participate in hearings or litigation as necessary.
- Support Workers' Compensation and unemployment claim processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred or certification in Human Resources dynamics.
- A minimum of 5-7 plus years related California HR experience, at least 3 of these years in a management role.
- Prior Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Familiar with ADP Payroll systems.
- Broad generalist background including coaching & counseling, performance management, employee involvement, teambuilding, as well as compensation, and benefits.
- Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations.
- Experience in implementing and administering performance programs, preferably in a company that put strong emphasis on performance metrics.
- Must have demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining diverse employee talent, including creating and implementing recruitment strategies.
- Exceptional project/personnel management skills.
- Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy environment.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point is essential.
- Exhibit extraordinary discretion, flexibility and willingness to work closely with our senior management team.

$120,000.00 - $135,000.00 / year
