Description

Position Overview:


The HR Associate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, maintenance of HR records, leave administration, employee engagement and employee relations. This role is essential in ensuring smooth and efficient HR business operations and fostering a positive workplace culture.



Location:


100% in-office/non-remote in Maryville, TN. To be considered, applicants must live within a commutable distance to Maryville, TN. If residing outside of a commutable distance, willingness to relocate immediately must be explicitly stated at the top of the submitted cover letter and/or resume.



Education and Experience:



  • 0-2 years of experience in an HR or administrative role preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices is a preference.
  • Experience with event planning/coordination preferred


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS systems including data entry and support of timecard processing.
  • Support leave of absence administration and leave tracking processes.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities including coordinating stakeholder availability, event logistics, venue, catering, and contracts/proposals.
  • Support employee training initiatives.
  • Respond to employee questions, internal and external HR-related inquiries and requests.
  • Perform investigative research and other employee relations reviews in support of HR Business Partner.
  • Prepare HR documents as needed.
  • Support audits as required.
  • Support the internal communications process as needed.
  • Support of HR Policy update process.
  • Support ADP resources pages and employee intranet site.
  • Coordinate local employee volunteer committee.
  • Assist with service award & recognition activities.
  • New vendor set-up processing for HR.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
  • Other HR process and administrative support as needed.

  • Excellent written/verbal/presentation skills required
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with electronic communication platforms
  • Advanced Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills required; SharePoint experience preferred
  • Content design experience for various media types (print, online, video, etc.)
  • Passion and personality for employee engagement
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Drive for results, self-motivation & taking initiative critical
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities and projects
  • Independent judgement and decision-making skills and the ability to escalate higher-level issues as needed

  • Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and projects
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to and learn new processes


Physical Demands:



  • Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, squat and walk
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Support events that are outside the normal hours of business when needed

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:


Work will be performed in a typical office environment. The following Personal Protective Equipment is required: Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor. The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
