Overview

Come Find Your Spark at Quartz! The Clinical Informatics Team is seeking a Senior Healthcare Informatics Analyst to join their collaborative team. This position will produce financial, claim, medical management, quality and risk reporting and analyses to leadership. This role will consult with business and clinical areas to design, develop, and implement data queries and data processes to support reporting analytics.

  • Starting salary is based upon skills and experience: $83,800 - $104,800 with robust benefits package.


Responsibilities

  • Consults with business units, management, and vendors to analyze, develop and document detailed business requirements and business processes for proposed solutions to business initiatives.
    • Interprets business requirements and creates report outputs from the appropriate tool (Power BI, Business Objects, SAS, SQL, Excel, etc.) which meet the needs of the internal customer. Create compelling and effective charts, tables, presentations, and other visuals that convey analytic results clearly and effectively to the business, including non-technical audiences.
    • Collects, manipulates, and analyzes data from multiple sources, draws accurate inferences, and presents findings to various levels of staff and collaborates on outcomes.
    • Consults with the business to identify and recommend additional opportunities for value-add data extract and analysis.
  • Gathers report/data requirements from business owners and subject matter experts (SME)s.
    • Utilize healthcare analytic tools, data mining, and data visualization to create actionable insights for programs that drive improvements in health outcomes and member well-being.
    • Drafts and revises report specifications along with policies and procedures to ensure internal controls are correct and up to date.
    • Act as a subject matter expert on project teams, mentor analysts in data retrieval and report creation, and facilitate small group initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, or Business-related field with 4+ years of relevant experience with business intelligence/analytics tools
    • OR associate degree in finance, Accounting, Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, or Business-related field with 7+ years of relevant experience with business intelligence/analytics tools
    • OR high school equivalency with 10+ years of experience with business intelligence/analytics tools
  • Solid knowledge of business concepts, analytics techniques, and data policies
  • Advanced computer skills in relevant programs as well as the ability to independently solve highly complex problems
  • Proficiency and demonstrated skill with MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
  • Proficiency with SQL coding language, data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau) and query tools (Business Objects, SAS, SQL Developer)
  • Intermediate knowledge of healthcare claims payment systems and industry standard reimbursement methodologies (Medicare & Medicaid). Basic knowledge of Healthcare Insurance Marketplace and PPACA rules and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of quality programs and measures (NCQA, HEDIS, Medicare Stars program, etc.) along with tools to support quality reporting such as Cotiviti Quality Reporter
  • Ability to identify proper communication channels to use for different situations (phone, email, chat, face-to-face)
  • Ability to be inquisitive, well-organized, creative in developing analytical tools and presentation formats, highly motivated to resolve issues on a timely basis and with attention to detail

Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
