Senior HR Partner University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) The University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and experienced Human Resources professional to join our team as a Senior HR Partner. This role is integral to delivering high-impact HR services and programs that support the university's mission of transforming lives through delivering exceptional education, research, and engagement experiences that inform, prepare, challenge, and inspire. As a member of the Senior HR Partner team, you will provide expert consultation and leadership in areas including workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, organizational development, and policy implementation. You will serve as a trusted advisor to assigned colleges, schools, and divisions (CSDs) including 500-700 employees, while also contributing to university-wide initiatives and committees. Key Responsibilities Workforce Planning & Design
- Partner with unit leaders to align HR strategies with organizational goals.
- Analyze workforce data to inform staffing decisions and identify trends.
- Develop proactive staffing plans in collaboration with leadership and recruitment teams.
- Ensure HR structures and processes deliver consistent, positive stakeholder experiences.
Employee Relations & Policy Compliance
- Lead investigations and resolve sensitive employee relations matters.
- Provide guidance on performance issues, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution.
- Advise on corrective actions and manage offboarding processes.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and employment laws.
Career Development & Performance Management
- Oversee performance review processes and facilitate calibration sessions.
- Recommend and deliver training and development programs to enhance employee engagement.
- Support succession planning and talent pipeline development.
Organizational Effectiveness & Change Management
- Advise leaders on change management strategies and organizational effectiveness.
- Implement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture which delivers excellence.
- Coordinate employee engagement and recognition programs.
Compensation & Job Analysis
- Educate supervisors on compensation philosophy and practices.
- Analyze organizational trends and recommend compensation adjustments.
- Collaborate on job analysis, equity reviews, and merit processes.
HR Programs & Policy Implementation
- Provide policy guidance and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Identify process improvements and implement workflow enhancements.
- Monitor and report on HR metrics to support data-driven decision-making.

Shift
Typically Monday - Friday. Position is on-site with some flexibility for remote on occasion.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with leaders at all levels of an organization.
- Effective facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across HR functions and departments.
- Knowledge of change management principles and regulatory compliance.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
Anticipated Hiring Range
