Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

To provide packaging, shipping, receiving, picking for assembly, and inventorying of RE&D parts as well as performing other utility functions around the plant.

Hours: Monday - Friday 7am-3pm

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Represent RE&D in a positive & professional manner.
  • Load and unload of common carriers, steel trucks, supplier trucks, and RE&D company trucks.
  • Prepare parts and assemblies for shipping and arriving in good condition. This includes boxing, crating, skidding, etc.
  • Accurately account for the disposition of all parts.
  • Accurately creates and accounts for all shipping documentation.
  • Accurately creates and accounts for all receiving documentation.
  • Ship parts for subcontracted operations, to customers, and supplier returns. This including creating or gathering documentation.
  • Utilize FedEx and UPS shipping systems.
  • Receive purchased and subcontracted parts, verify correct quantity, good condition, perform proper documentation of the parts receipt, and carry out correct disposition of items (stock, move to shop, hold for assembly, ship, or send for outside operations).
  • Inform Buyer of need to create subcontract POs in a timely fashion.
  • Stage parts for assembly.
  • Pick parts for assembly.
  • Accurately perform various picking, shipping and receiving transactions within ERP system.
  • Accurately maintain inventories.
  • Transports materials, parts and assemblies using forklifts, trucks, carts, and other material handling equipment as required facilitating process flow.
  • Clean and maintain housekeeping and organization in designated areas of the facility.
  • Perform miscellaneous utility functions as directed around the facility.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by following established safety rules and by drawing attention to potential safety hazards or unsafe work practices.
  • Occasionally transport parts to customers or suppliers as required using company vehicles.
  • Complete any other assignments as directed to support production control, shipping, and/or overall company objectives.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • This employee must have a strong customer focus (both internal & external customers), excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to interact successfully with a wide range of individuals.
  • Forklift operation
  • Basic carpentry skills are necessary.
  • Knowledge of safe rigging and lifting techniques.
  • Experience with common power tools used for manufacturing crates and skids.
  • Excellent accuracy and consistency in data entry and material disposition.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment including computer, copy and fax machines.
  • Ability to consistently meet critical deadlines.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

  • A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required.
  • One to three years of experience in a logistics, shipping/receiving, or inventory management job function.
  • Position requires employee to sit or stand approximately for up to 8-10 hrs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS.
  • Requires standing, sitting, bending, stairs, ladders, & lifting
