The Director, Head of Cloud Architecture, is a strategic and highly visible role reporting directly to the SVP, Chief Architect, with a mandate to drive cloud transformation with enterprise-scale execution.

Your Impact:

You will lead the Cloud Architecture function responsible for defining, governing, and scaling OpenText's global cloud transformation strategy. You will drive the simplification and standardization of our cloud environments, define the architectural blueprints and automations for customer migrations, and ensure operational excellence across both public and private clouds.

What the role offers:

As Director, Head of Cloud Architecture, you will:

  • Lead Cloud Transformation: Drive the design and standardization of global data center and cloud blueprints, reducing architectural variations and enabling a unified cloud operating model across public and private environments.
  • Define Cloud Architecture Patterns: Establish scalable architectural frameworks, automation standards, and reference architectures to accelerate customer migrations from on-premises to cloud.
  • Optimize Cloud Operations: Partner with Cloud Ops and FinOps teams to ensure high levels of availability, performance, security, and cost efficiency across all cloud deployments.
  • Enable Cloud Consistency and Compliance: Define and enforce cloud governance, controls, and guardrails that ensure consistency and compliance with global security and regulatory standards.
  • Drive Automation and Efficiency: Champion Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), DevOps, and automation practices to streamline provisioning, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product engineering and platform architecture teams to ensure that cloud patterns align with application design, scalability, and data residency needs.
  • Future-Proof the Cloud Stack: Continuously assess emerging cloud technologies, architectures, and operational models to enhance agility, resilience, and sustainability.
  • Mentor and Lead Architects: Build and lead a high-performing team of cloud architects and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 12+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or enterprise IT transformation in large-scale, multi-cloud environments.
  • Proven success leading cloud standardization or transformation initiatives across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure design, landing zone architectures, network and security frameworks, and hybrid connectivity patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep) and automation frameworks (Ansible, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Deep understanding of cloud operations, FinOps, and cost optimization practices.
  • Experience defining migration patterns and architectural blueprints for large-scale workloads moving from on-premises to cloud.
  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and identity architectures in regulated enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing across executive and technical audiences.
