POSITION OVERVIEW: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Build positive relationships with Drivers by facilitating regular driving feedback meetings, listening to and analyzing driving related concerns and providing explanations and/or solutions Educate, develop and motivate Drivers in collaboration with applicable local operations Assist operations leadership with the development and targeted implementation of driving related employee survey action plans; promote proactive and positive best practices to increase consistent improvement in Driver engagement level Assess and coach Drivers' performance to ensure accountability for improvement in accordance with applicable policies and procedures in collaboration with applicable local operations Assist Operations and Safety leadership by conducting driver rides to support the Safety Above All Culture, as needed Counsel with and provide guidance to employees regarding their actions and practices to ensure compliance of company policies, (with special emphasis on the Driver Manual), rules and all applicable state and federal regulations/laws Collaborate with business partners in analyzing and coordinating the bid process, vacation bidding and transfers Facilitate new hire orientation, specifically including use of technology required (e.g. dock and forklift computers, handheld device, etc.) in collaboration with applicable local operations Collaborate with Learning & Development to ensure necessary educational tools are available and utilized Work in partnership with functional groups with matters related to Driver personnel Assist Service Center leadership and support business partners with the analysis and development of routes, bids and staffing levels Support events such as state and national truck driving championships Support new and reassigned equipment education, safety and feedback Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures Perform other duties as required. Actual pay is determined by job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, such as experience, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment.
