DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will assist the County Maintenance Manager and oversee all maintenance operations within a designated area of the County Maintenance Organization. Your responsibilities will include preparing plans and estimates for various tasks such as paving, surface treatments, widening, construction, patching, small bridge maintenance, guide rail installation, signage, shoulder cutting, crack and joint sealing, and snow removal. You will also provide recommendations for the effective allocation of equipment, manpower, and materials to meet program objectives and ensure customer satisfaction.
Additionally, you will coordinate work assignments, enhance communication, and work towards improving labor and customer relations. Monitoring fieldwork for compliance with policies, procedures, and quality standards will be essential, as will preparing or approving performance records. Engaging with union representatives, employees, local groups, officials, and property owners will be necessary to explain operations, address issues, and build collaborative relationships. Furthermore, you will initiate and support the development and implementation of new or improved work methods and materials. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bedford. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years as a Highway Foreman 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of technical experience in highway maintenance or highway construction; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:
