Job Summary:

We are seeking a proven strategic leader with extensive experience in quality, compliance, and operational management within the blood banking industry. This role is accountable for ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, driving process improvements, and leading cross-functional initiatives to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality and compliance programs, including auditing, in-process reviews, validation, and change control.
  • Manage operational activities related to donor suitability, manufacturing, processing, batch release, quality control, and distribution.
  • Lead strategic planning, policy formulation, and system development to support organizational goals.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives and implement corrective action plans.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop data-driven solutions to resolve operational challenges.
  • Manage projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets for assigned programs and projects.
  • Provide senior-level guidance and oversight to quality programs, systems, and activities.
  • Direct the implementation of quality program policies, procedures, and controls to meet or exceed all applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate the organization's quality strategy and programs across all levels.
  • Interpret federal, state, and international regulations as they apply to products, processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Maximize operational effectiveness within areas of responsibility and contribute to organization-wide efficiency initiatives.

The salary range for this position is: $250,000 - $265,000

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned with the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have, and a comparison to other employees already in this role.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required.
  • Minimum 15 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • 10 years of management experience.
  • Ability to shape, lead, motivate, and develop leadership teams.
  • ASQ Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work on a diverse team of Executives.
  • Frequent travel is required up to 50%.
  • Extensive experience in quality/compliance management and operational leadership within the blood banking or healthcare industry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage complex projects.
  • Proficiency in process/system design, data analysis, and trend reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
