Summary:

The Instructional Designer will employ a systematic approach to improve the skills and knowledge of associates through the implementation of various learning solutions. They will be responsible for analyzing and identifying training needs, while also developing and implementing training solutions. They will consult with individuals at all levels within the organization. Design and development span instructional solutions including virtual, blended, and in-person training programs. In addition to media, job aids, curriculum paths, and other shareable content to improve associate performance. They will also track training evaluation plans to measure the success of training solutions. Instructional Designer are critical to the improvement of associate skills, knowledge, and abilities which will align with the strategic direction and performance requirements the Bank's lines of business.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage instructional program design, development, and implementation throughout the entire project life cycle
  • Prioritize needs and requests aligned with business objectives
  • Gather content and insight from various departments, subject-matter experts and stakeholders within the company
  • Design, develop, and implement training materials blended learning solutions in multiple formats (eLearning, webinars, instructor-led, videos, guides, job aids, curriculum paths, podcasts, panels etc.)
  • Support organizational and internal projects and change initiatives via training solutions
  • Investigate external resources and development opportunities for personal and output growth
  • Adhere identify or improve internal processes/procedures necessary for success
  • Utilize Articulate Rise, Camtasia, SnagIt, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel and Smartsheet to create training deliverables
  • Provide editing/quality control for training material deliverables and communications
  • Coordinate with internally and lines of business to support training delivery
  • Possess presentation skills, strong verbal and written communication and the ability to state information in a concise, solution-driven manner
  • Evaluate implemented training programs impact on employee performance and business goals

Knowledge, abilities, skills:

  • Experience carrying out all activities in the training development life cycle using the ADDIE model. This includes aligning deliverables with team and bank strategies.
  • Experience with applying instructional design methodology and adult learning principles
  • Experience with applying TDrP, Kirkpatrick, or Philips ROI evaluation models.
  • Experience consulting internally and with various lines of business and leadership levels
  • Must be able to manage day-to-day activities of multiple assigned projects, communicate status updates and proactively identify changes in scope of work to ensure appropriate planning measures are taken to assess impacts of scope change
  • Self-directed with strong project management and time management skills
  • Expertise with Articulate Rise and Storyline, Camtasia, and other e-learning authoring tools
  • Self-motivated to learn new applications and technologies independently
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive
  • Must be a critical thinker and problem solver to be resourceful and develop a quick understanding of various areas' internal processes, procedures, policies, and regulations
  • Creates Raving Fans/Relationships with team, SME and department heads

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher with a focus on training, adult learning, education, instructional technology, instructional design, or curriculum development.
  • Minimum 3 years of instructional design or adult training experience
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing blended learning using tools such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, Camtasia, SnagIt, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Products

Location:

This position will be located at the Corporate Centre, with hybrid work available after onboarding.
