Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Quality Assurance Team Lead, to oversee our quality technicians, a quality inspector, and a color specialist. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The Quality Assurance Team Lead will serve as a key liaison between the production and quality departments, driving continuous improvement and maintaining consistent product quality across all operations.

Primary Duties:



  • Oversee the quality technicians, color specialist and quality inspector (QA Team), providing coaching, support, training, and feedback; hold regular meetings with QA Team.
  • Monitor and report on QA Team metrics.
  • Assist as needed with investigation of customer claims that are potentially Inpro manufacturing or purchased product nonconformances to specification or product failures; provide evaluation feedback to customer service and approve/reject request for customer allowances; submit record only RCAs.
  • Assist as needed with processing of material reject records including evaluation, disposition, feedback, and subsequent actions per documented instructions; both Inpro error and supplier error rejections. Implement an electronic system to track internal manufacturing defects.
  • Monitor Inpro external and internal quality metrics and trends. Implement or coordinate improvement actions on systemic issues or negative trends.
  • Create new and revise existing process operating sheets, production and QA work instructions, and incoming quality control plans. This may involve attending new product launch meetings, design review meetings, and engineering change review meetings.
  • Support production by assisting when there are product quality issues and by providing training as needed on quality processes or inspection methods. Conduct informal audits on quality related responsibilities or product inspections.
  • Contact suppliers as needed on quality issues or improvement. Initiate formal corrective action as appropriate. Visit suppliers as needed to address issues and/or to review their quality system.
  • Coordinate and lead quality council meetings for Endurant, SignScape, and Digital Print including report generation.
  • With the QA Team, collaborate with Inpro departments (sales, supply chain, product management) and suppliers on product quality.
  • Work with Customer Service Team Lead to ensure seamless collaboration between QA Team and Customer Service Reps.
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks or projects as assigned by the Quality & EHS Manager to support corporate and department objectives, plant operation tactical actions, or quality system improvement.


Personal Attributes/Job Requirements:



  • 5+ years of experience in a quality position that includes 1+ years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt training required; Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • Provides clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong inspection, math and blueprint reading skills.
  • Basic proficiency skills in Microsoft Excel or Minitab.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Limited travel required (customer site, supplier facility).


Job Relationships:



  • Works closely with production, product development, product management, purchasing, traffic, and supplier representatives.
  • Reports directly to the Quality & EHS Manager.


Authority:



  • To stop any operation for an unsafe condition in accordance with Inpro's Safety Standards
  • To accept or reject product based on meeting requirements.
  • To determine acceptance on custom color matches.
  • To pull and/or hold stock. To disposition rejected product per procedure.
  • To support company policies and procedures by reporting non-compliances.
  • To change Process Operating Sheets, Quality Control Plans, or assigned work instructions.
