Research Co-op - M&A Insights Job ID: 102571 Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges-the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day?
If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place.
Your Impact
You'll work in our Client Capability hub located in Boston, MA as part of our M&A Service Line within our Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice.
The M&A Insights Research Team is dedicated to helping our clients achieve superior results with their buy-side (merger and acquisition), sell-side (divestiture, spin-off, IPO) integrations and partnership (joint venture and alliance) activities.
You will provide day-to-day support to the M&A Insights Team Leader, SynergyLab and DealScan.AI leaders and practice leadership in a research and knowledge management capacity.
You will contribute to transactions related Knowledge Investment Projects (KIPs), with a particular focus on the development of SynergyLab [McKinsey's proprietary offering to clients and McKinsey teams that delivers better and faster answers on synergies] and DealScan.AI [technology used to advance M&A strategies through the segmentation of markets and generation of unbiased, comprehensive, and non-obvious M&A target lists for mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships].
You will conduct research and create custom case studies for specific past transactions.
You will maintain transactions databases (e.g., Transactions Multiples Database, JV Database, Global 2000) and create trend reports (e.g., M&A Activity Report).
You will provide teams with access to the vast array of available firm knowledge (e.g., key documents, subject matter experts, analytical support) and serve as a central point of contact for key proprietary databases.
You will have the opportunity to work with practice leadership and M&A-dedicated experts and analysts. Your Growth
Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues-at all levels-will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won't find anywhere else.
When you join us, you will have:
