GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Director of Project Management serves as a managing official for Project Managers (PM) and Project Engineers as well as Subcontractors, all related to the installation of products by Wells. The position will be responsible for executing direction and managerial supervision which ensures customer satisfaction, favorable fiscal results, safety of personnel, and development of direct reports. The Director will also be responsible for the implementation of new policies, processes and procedures. This position will report to the VP of Drafting & Engineering.

Salary range ($130,000+). Based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Professionally lead and manage projects from sale to project completion
  • Manage Qualified and Certified Erector program as outlined by PCI. Including but not limited to audits, required paperwork, policy/procedure, etc.
  • Assist estimators on projects as requested
  • Manage Project Milestones all through final collection of retention payment.
  • Demonstrate consistent performance on predetermined project metrics through leadership and management to drive project performance
  • Implement project planning process to ensure consistent internal/external customer satisfaction
  • Manage resources related to the erection department including, but not limited to cranes, crews, trucks, rigging, etc.
  • Monitor Project Manager and Project Engineer workload and re-assign jobs as required to ensure proper management of all projects
  • Evaluate project costs as it relates to field services. Work with estimating in the event standards need to be revised
  • Work with project partners as required to provide requested support
  • Facilitate department meetings on a regular basis
  • Thoroughly investigate all reported incidents as they relate to the field
  • Perform annual performance reviews of all department personnel
  • Coordinate with Sales when/if a change order is to be issued
  • Coordinate with project team to ensure all project materials required are ordered.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide solutions to issues as they relate to the projects
  • Coordinate and participate in visits to plant and installation to ensure Wells is delivering on contracted scope of work.


EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED



  • A minimum four-year degree in construction project management, Engineering or related field is required
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) is desired
  • Prior Precast construction / erection management experience is required
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A relentless desire to provide outstanding customer service
  • Ability to comprehend Wells drawings as well as architectural and engineering drawings
  • Leadership and strategic thinker
  • Excellent people and communicative skills
  • Self-starter and able to work unsupervised
  • Superior problem-solving ability
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Project, Oracle, Microsoft products)
  • Knowledge of the installation process preferred


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment
  • Visual acuity and ability to read small print
  • Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment
  • Mobility and ability to move around the office as needed
