Description

The Kendrick Center for an Ethical Economy in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (located in Morgantown, WV) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position starting in July or August 2026. The Fellow will be responsible for 80% research and 20% teaching during the term of the appointment. The term of this appointment will be 12-months (renewable twice annually for a potential term of three years total, pending satisfactory publication record).

In terms of research duties, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to provide research to the Kendrick Center for an Ethical economy both in collaboration with Center Faculty and independently. The teaching expectation is two courses per year. Courses could be at both the undergraduate or graduate level based upon needs of the Center or College.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate with scholars within the Kendrick Center, under the discretion and direction of Dr. Cathleen Johnson. Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position and start date are subject to budget approval.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must hold, at the time of appointment, a Ph.D. in economics, philosophy and related fields, or a JD in law. Ph.D. candidates in the advanced stages of their dissertation will also be considered, but they must have earned their Ph.D. before the
start date of this position.
