Clinical Research Manager I - Sports Med

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Orthopedic Sports Medicine Research group within the Sports Medicine Research Technology, and Innovation (SPORTI) program within the division of Sports Medicine at BCH. This position will play a pivotal role in leading and managing both internal and multicenter clinical research studies. A key focus of this role will be on people management, where you will mentor and guide clinical research assistants and other team members to ensure effective collaboration, professional growth, and high performance. This position will manage the full scope of clinical research project management, including pre- and post-award grant management, ensuring the efficient and successful completion of research initiatives. Leadership in team development and project oversight will be essential to advancing innovative research in orthopedic sports medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the work of various clinical research studies.
  • Collaborate and consult Principal Investigators in the design, development, and conduct of research studies.
  • Partner with Investigators and staff on developing and writing grants and protocols.
  • Assist in developing curriculum and may conduct seminars/talks to train research staff in research regulations and best practices.
  • Oversee budget and financial reporting for the department, often working closely with the Finance director.
  • Ensures work is performed in conformance with established hospital, program, federal, and state policies and procedures. Manages Staff Performance Reviews.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant work experience OR master's degree and 4 years relevant experience is required.
Experience:
  • 6 years' relevant work experience OR a Master's Degree and 4 years' relevant experience.
  • Research finance/ budget experience is strongly preferred.
  • Well-developed communication skills to provide critical information to internal and external stakeholders, effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, and the ability to mediate fair solutions.
