COMSEC Engineering Technician

WORK LOCATION: Lackland AFB, TX

JOB STATUS: Full-Time; Salaried

SECURITY CLEARANCE: MUST have an active Top Secret security clearance

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a COMSEC Engineering Technician to directly support the USAF Information Technical Assistance Center (ITAC), which is within the Cryptologic Systems Division (AFLCMC//HNC) and located at Lackland AFB, TX.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years of directly related experience, of which 5 years must be in DoD;
  • MUST have an active Top secret clearance.
  • Experience with Type 1 cryptography products including INE, LEF, SCIP products, and other Type 1 cryptography.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • Experience in networking (routers, switches and HAIPE/LEF devices).
  • Experience operating electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc)
  • Cable and connector fabrication

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical assistance on information assurance products and solutions, with focus on Type 1 products including INEs, LEF, and SCIP products.
  • Troubleshoot, update software, and conduct testing.
  • Develop unique security solutions
  • Resolve integration interoperability issues
  • Assist in the design of secure network architectures.
  • Provide engineering sustainment support to field users
  • Evaluate security products and systems
  • Perform integration testing
