Mechanic/Yellow Iron Technician

Location: Near Carlsbad, NM | Halfway Landfill Facility

Pay Range: $87,000 - $102,000 ($24-$28+/hr., based on experience + overtime)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, with occasional weekends | 55-60 hour weeks | Day Shift

We are currently looking to add a Mechanic to our team at the Halfway Landfill Facility near Carlsbad, NM. To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Mechanic, preferably on Heavy Equipment/Yellow Iron. This is a Day Shift position, Monday through Friday, with occasional Weekends. We offer family benefits, 401(k), vacation, and year-round steady work. For out-of-town applicants, we do offer man camp accommodations.

The Job:

* Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Diesel Trucks and Heavy Equipment/Yellow Iron.

* Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.

* Use onboard computer systems to identify and resolve vehicle issues.

* Complete work orders and documentation using our fleet maintenance software.

* Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform on-site service calls.

* Ensure a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant work environment.

Requirements:

* 1+ years of hands-on Mechanic experience

* Must have your own tools

* Basic computer skills for Diagnostics and Documentation

* Commitment to safety practices and PPE usage
