Shift: Days, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Three 12-hour shifts per week

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital's 4 ELL Respiratory unit is a 30-bed medical-surgical unit specializing in the care of patients with various respiratory conditions, such as asthma, COPD, bronchitis, pneumonia, and influenza. We also provide care to patients with other medical conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, and alcohol or substance use disorders. Our nurses have an average patient ratio of 5:1, and the support of Registered Nurse leadership, RNs, and Patient Care Technicians.

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
