What Will You Be Doing?

Are you ready to lead the future of connected healthcare technology? As a Senior Commercial Healthcare Solutions Architect, you will:

  • Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade IoT digital health systems that transform clinical workflows and elevate patient care.
  • Define and own technical architecture for large-scale healthcare deployments, ensuring compliance and alignment with customer business goals.
  • Drive integration across EMR/EHR platforms, HL7 interfaces, and clinical reporting systems.
  • Identify unmet needs and lead development of reusable, productized solutions to accelerate adoption.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to strategic clients, guiding them through complex integrations and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Provide expert oversight on HIPAA, HiTrust, NIST, SOC2, and partner with legal teams on security language in agreements.
  • Mentor engineering teams and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Architect and deploy HL7, ADT, EMR/EHR, and reporting interfaces; develop automation tools for implementation and monitoring.
  • Manage custom configurations and author technical documentation, knowledge base content, and implementation playbooks.

What Will You Need to Be Successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 5+ years in healthcare IT with hands-on HL7, EMR/EHR systems, and interface development.
  • Familiarity with EPIC, Cerner, Mirth highly beneficial.
  • Expertise in SQL, PowerShell, JavaScript, and modern programming languages; experience in AWS and Azure environments.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare security and compliance standards (ISO 13485, HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to multitask and perform under pressure.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams and delivering enterprise-level solutions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $90,250 - $156,750 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. In addition to base pay, we provide competitive bonus and benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, parental leave, and generous PTO, paid company holidays annually and 8 hours of Volunteer time and a variety of wellness offerings such as EAP.
