If directing and monitoring all aspects of multi-disciplined airport projects with high degrees of technical complexity and leading project staff is what you aspire to do, HDR is looking for you! As an Aviation Project Manager, you will be a partner with local area leadership and our national aviation experts on the pursuit and delivery of aviation projects and managing project staff. HDR is seeking a Senior Aviation Consultant to join our Aviation program. The Senior Aviation Consultant is a strategic and technical leadership role that integrates market development with practice excellence across the Area. This position is responsible for driving growth, ensuring high-quality project delivery, and developing talent within the Aviation Business Class. Reporting to the Professional Services Leader, this position collaborates with regional, area, business class and business group leadership to align business strategy with technical execution, positioning HDR as a premier service provider in their field, and champion technical excellence of the team. Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Manager or Technical Project Lead for key/critical projects or programs including airside, landside and master planning.
- Works with local and national aviation and aerospace staff to establish HDR as a premier service provider in both fields.
- Support company and client goals to advance sustainability and decarbonization efforts within Aviation, Airport and Aerospace market sectors.
- Lead strategic planning and execution for market growth within the assigned practice area.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, with a deep understanding of client needs, funding mechanisms, and regulatory environments.
- Will act as a doer/seller for current and future airport related projects.
- Will also work with Business/Accounting Managers, Project Controllers, and the Area Manager or Office Principals for project reviews.
- Will also be responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures, and for the execution of training for personnel as established by strategic plans.
- Partner with Area Business Development Lead and others to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Oversee quality assurance processes, including critical project reviews.
- Collaborate with national and regional technical leaders to maintain a cutting-edge, competitive practice and manage workshare.
- Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Monitor utilization and coordinate staffing strategies, including hiring and workshare.
- Support succession planning and career development initiatives.
- Participate in monthly coordination calls with business class, regional, and client leadership.
- Troubleshoot project delivery issues and support resolution planning.
- Participate in annual reviews of staff, when appropriate.
- Advance best practices, tools, and standards across the practice.
- Serve as liaison to national Business Classes, as appropriate.
- Will typically supervise project staff and act as a mentor for less experienced staff members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of aviation design project management experience.
- 15 years' experience in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the local aviation market in Missouri
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 7 years related experience
- A minimum of 2 years project management experience
- Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
