ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support in-house attorneys and HR Personnel with legal research, drafting, and review of employment-related documents, policies, and contracts.

  • Assist attorneys with employment litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings filed by or against the company.

  • Coordinate company responses to subpoenas, including liaising with internal stakeholders, gathering records, and producing responsive information.

  • Collect, review, and organize employment-related company records for litigation, audits, and other projects.

  • Draft, review, and maintain template agreements and standard forms under attorney supervision.

  • Prepare monthly reports tracking active and pending employment-related claims.

  • Under the supervision of counsel, manage demand letters and and administrative agency complaints, including information gathering, conducting and/or scheduling interviews, and drafting responses.

  • Monitor federal, state, and local employment law developments; advise internal stakeholders on compliance obligations.

  • Coordinate and support outside counsel engagement, including budget tracking, matter management, and invoice review/processing.

  • Process power of attorney requests.

  • Submit legal holds timely and in accordance with company procedures.

  • Perform some administrative duties, such as composing routine correspondence, editing legal documents, scheduling travel and processing expense reports, and maintaining legal files.

  • Handle special projects and other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 7+ years of paralegal experience, with at least 3 years in employment law or HR compliance.

  • Paralegal certificate required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook required.

  • Prior in-house legal department experience is strongly preferred.

  • Licensed Notary preferred.

  • Experience with Legal Tracker or other matter management/e-billing systems strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with PACER Case Locator ad electronic court record systems is preferred.

  • Proficiency with Westlaw or similar research platforms is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Usually, normal office working conditions.
