Job Description

This position willlead ateam of QMS generalists and specialists through avariety of projects to apply Quest Management System (QMS) principles and tools-OR- may be an individual contributor role responsible for large companywide projects/programs. This position acts as a change agent and role model to help reinforce the desired behaviors and embedQMS tools and methodologies into our normal way of doing things.This position will also be responsible for coaching others to learn and apply QMS principles and tools to their daily work.

This position willensure Quest Diagnostics isefficient and effective in the delivery of its services, solutions, and processes while improving customer and employee satisfaction.

*Please note this position will be hybrid. The position can be based in Secaucus NJ. The position will require 3 days in the office and 2 days can be work from home.

Pay Range: $160,000 to $200,000 / year

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives the learning, application, and adoption of QMS tools andmethodologies
  • Manages a portfolio of initiatives that drive improvement within his/her functional area orbusiness
  • Coaches other employees onthe use of various tools, concepts and practicesfoundational to QMSinorderfor Quest Diagnostics employeesto build self-sufficiency, sustainability andscalability
  • Leads his/her own projects and working teams to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and closeprojects

    • Leadsprojects

      • Leads projectsthrough issues, roadblocks, andproblems
      • Acts as a change agent to drive teamstowardsuccess
      • Guides team members to perform through issues andconstraints

    • Ownsprojects

      • Owns the timeline, budget, resource constraints, and deliverables/results
      • Shifts between the "big picture" and the small-but-crucialdetails
      • Is prepared to roll up their sleeves and work through detailedissues

    • Managesprojects

      • Ensures all appropriate tools are completed and used effectively (e.g., charter,Ganttchart, status updates)

    • Communicates

      • Actively communicates with projectsponsors andstakeholders
      • Establishes regular points ofcommunication
      • Manages sponsor and stakeholdersexpectations

    • Delivers the expectedresults

      • Performs root cause analysis on project shortfalls and takes corrective action asnecessary


  • Applies continuous improvement tools and techniques, as well as other QMS principles and tools, toward a variety of large or complex problems. Activelyidentifiesroot causes of issues and designssolutions that addressthem
  • Leadsefforts to implement Process Control and Management (processdefinition,documentation,ownership,metrics,andmonitoringsystems)
  • Facilitates workshops and targeted improvement events to help teams quickly achieve strategicobjectives
  • Workswith local team members to identify and prioritize continuous improvementopportunities
  • Works with functional and site leaders as a "thought leader" to create future state improvement roadmaps with clear executable plans that are in line with the business strategies improvementneeds
  • Works with local team members to instill effective daily work management behaviors, such as daily metricreview
  • Contributes toward building a grass-roots culture of continuousimprovement
  • Participates in Communities of Practice
  • Leads QMS trainingclasses
  • Documents business processes

Qualifications:

Required WorkExperience:

  • Experience supervising others

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated experience leading large and complex projects from initiation to completion(10+ years)
  • Demonstrated experience using structured problem-solvingskills:uses a systematic, disciplined and data-driven approach that identifies the root causes of various issues and designs solutions to resolve them
  • Demonstrated understanding of continuous improvement, process management, or systemthinking
  • Demonstrated experience in core continuous improvement tools and advancedtools
  • Proven track record in facilitating discussions orworkshops
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships withothers
  • Demonstrated experience leadingchanges
  • Demonstrated ability to influence businessleaders
  • Advanced data analysis skills
  • Skilled in statistical analysis
