Leads revenue growth, operational efficiency, and service excellence across Boys Town Press. Integrates sales strategy, customer experience, inventory optimization, and fulfillment oversight to drive both short-term performance and long-term sustainability. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Collaborate with editorial and marketing teams to align publishing schedules with sales and promotional strategies.
  • Provide market insights to inform product development, pricing, and positioning. Support the lifecycle of published products-from launch planning to end-of-life decisions-based on performance data and customer feedback.
  • Ensure metadata, product listings, and distribution details are accurate and optimized across platforms.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies across wholesale, retail, and direct-to-consumer channels. Proactively build and manage relationships with key partners - including wholesalers, distributors, resellers, and major clients - by establishing regular check-ins, maintaining consistent communication, and ensuring timely follow-up to support strategic goals.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities to expand reach and revenue. Collaborate with Leadership, Marketing, and Finance to evaluate pricing, negotiate contracts, and analyze performance metrics. Oversee daily operations of a customer-facing team, ensuring high-quality, responsive service.
  • Coach and support staff to improve performance and customer satisfaction. Ensure continuity of service by stepping in during peak periods, escalated needs, or staff absences, maintaining high standards of customer experience and operational flow.
  • Serve as primary liaison with warehouse teams for fulfillment, inventory, and issue resolution. Forecast and optimize inventory using historical sales data and market trends to ensure availability while minimizing excess stock.
  • Streamline fulfillment workflows to improve accuracy and reduce delays.
  • Partner on the development of strategic plans for Boys Town Press marketing, sales, and operations. Research and evaluate new revenue streams, including, but not limited to, licensing, digital products, subscriptions, special market sales, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead assessment of new business opportunities aligned with Boys Town Press's mission and growth goals.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Align sales, marketing, service, and fulfillment initiatives across departments. Lead planning sessions and cross-functional projects; provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress and performance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong understanding of sales channels, inventory management, and customer service operations.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfort with technology, including proficiency in Excel, web-based systems, and other technologies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Communications, Publishing, or a related field required.
  • Minimum five years of experience in sales, operations, or customer service management required.
  • Proven supervisory experience with a track record of team development and performance improvement required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with CRM systems, inventory, order/shipping platforms, ecommerce and project management tools preferred.
  • Familiarity with publishing workflows preferred.
  • Direct publishing experience strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up.
