Are you ready to make your mark? Woodward is hiring for 1st shift Mechanical Technicians to support our Systems Test Facility in Loves Park, IL. These roles will focus on testing and documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure we continue to meet our company and customer demands. Individuals with a strong background and working knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical and/or pneumatic systems are highly encouraged to apply! Key Responsibilities: Level I:
Conducts Mechanical Testing: Performs routine tests on mechanical components using established procedures to ensure quality and compliance with specifications. Maintains Technical Documentation: Accurately records test results and maintains organized records of processes and procedures for team reference. Assists in Equipment Maintenance: Supports the upkeep and calibration of mechanical tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and reliability. Collaborates with Engineering Team: Communicates effectively with team members to share technical information and coordinate tasks within engineering projects. Troubleshoots Mechanical Issues: Identifies and resolves straightforward mechanical problems by applying standard operating procedures and analytical methods.
Level II:
Execute Analytical Processes: Performs defined scientific and operational procedures to support engineering initiatives. Apply Technical Expertise: Utilizes broadened technical skills to conduct complex analyses and ensure project precision. Collaborate with Engineering Team: Works effectively within the team and with other departments to achieve collective objectives. Manage Project Workload: Organizes and prioritizes tasks to efficiently handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision. Resolve Operational Issues: Identifies and addresses typical technical problems using established procedures and methods.
Key Skills: Level I
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in operating and maintaining mechanical equipment and tools required for routine tasks. Analytical Skills: Capable of performing basic data analysis to support operational processes and problem solving. Adherence to Standard Procedures: Consistently follows established standard operating procedures to ensure quality and compliance. Quality Control: Ensures the quality of work by adhering to defined quality guidelines and standards. Mechanical Design: Proficient in creating and modifying mechanical components and systems using CAD software. Analytical Thinking: Capable of evaluating complex problems and developing effective solutions using scientific methods. Technical Documentation: Skilled in preparing detailed technical reports, specifications, and documentation for engineering projects. Process Optimization: Experienced in identifying and implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Team Collaboration: Effective in working within a team, coordinating with colleagues to achieve common objectives. Problem Solving: Adept at recognizing typical operational issues and applying established procedures to resolve them. Time Management: Efficiently manages workload to meet project deadlines and deliverables. Communication: Proficient in conveying moderately complex technical information to team members. Data Analysis: Skilled in analyzing engineering data to inform decision making and project development. Quality Assurance: Ensures the quality and accuracy of engineering work to maintain high team standards.
What We Are Looking For: Level I
2 plus years' experience with assembly and/or test functions in a similar manufacturing environment is highly preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities Aerospace industry experience preferred (A&P License highly desired)
Level II
Experience setting up and testing new, modified, and production product designs is strongly desired Experience using basic machine tools to fabricate needed assembly and test tooling and fixtures is highly recommended
