Summary:

In this role, you will lead and support IT sourcing and negotiation initiatives to drive cost savings and strategic value across software, hardware, and IT services. You will partner with healthcare IT and procurement leaders to evaluate vendor proposals, develop negotiation strategies, and structure contracts that align with organizational goals. You will leverage your expertise in market intelligence, financial modeling, and vendor ecosystems to deliver measurable results and strengthen relationships with member health systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support IT sourcing and negotiation initiatives across software, hardware, and IT services to achieve favorable outcomes.

  • Draft and manage RFPs/RFIs, evaluate proposals, and guide clients through vendor selection and contracting processes.

  • Perform comprehensive financial analyses, total cost modeling, and scenario planning to support client decision-making.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and ROI using effective project management methodology.

  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to align sourcing plans with technology and organizational strategies.

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with IT leaders, procurement executives, and suppliers.

  • Advise clients on negotiation strategy and market intelligence, leveraging benchmarking data and category expertise.

  • Exhibit technical and operational consulting expertise to deliver high-quality client deliverables.

  • Contribute to advisory growth through proposal development, SOW creation, and identification of new opportunities.

  • Support development of intellectual capital, thought leadership, and best practices in IT sourcing and contracting.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.

  • Experience in healthcare IT sourcing, procurement, or vendor management with strong contract negotiation and financial analysis skills.

  • Knowledge of healthcare budgeting, application rationalization, cybersecurity, and vendor governance processes preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency to manipulate and interpret data for actionable insights.

  • Skilled in reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating financial terms, legal language, and complex IT contracts.

  • Excellent analytical, project management, and presentation skills; able to synthesize complex information for executive audiences.

  • Prior consulting experience preferred.

  • Experience with AI tools such as Natural Language Processing, GenAI, or ChatGPT.

  • Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients' needs and participate in industry events.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
